The Elite Baseball Training family grew by one this past week with the addition of newly appointed Assistant Director, Cory Zomick, to the full time staff. Zomick served as the Coordinator for the 18U National Team and Tournament of Stars with USA Baseball and also was the General Manager of Hitters Baseball before joining Elite. Prior to graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Cory worked with Justin Stone for three years while Stone was still with the Bulls/Sox Training Academy.
Justin Stone had this to say about the addition of Cory Zomick. “It’s great to have Cory back with the Elite Baseball Training team. His work experience with USA Baseball will be an added asset as we continue to grow our brand.”
Cory will be handling a bulk of the administrative duties alongside Justin. He will also take the lead on some new youth initiatives that Elite Baseball Training is going to be undertaking in the coming months. As the youngest member of the full time staff Cory connects well with the young ball players. Zomick went on to say, “At such a young age I have been extremely fortunate to have already worked with some of the best in the game of baseball. From my early time with Justin getting introduced to guys like Nathan Durst really set me up to advance within the game. Then the opportunity with USA Baseball was really a game changer for me. I was able to soak up so much from being around guys like Scott Brosius, David Eckstein and Jack McDowell. Being a part of the player selection process for that team gave me first hand insight into what the top level coaches and scouts look for when putting together a team that is going to compete at the highest level.”
