CHICAGO, Ill – The Chicago Cubs have recently contracted with Chicago-based, Elite Baseball Training to work with Justin Stone as a Biomechanical Hitting Consultant.
Stone previously worked with the Cubs as a guest instructor during the Arizona Fall League in 2017, and joined them again for the 2018 Spring Training, where he worked with the Cubs Player Development and Research and Development staffs.
“I’m thrilled to help the Cubs continue their pursuit of championships in any way I can.” Stone said about his new position. “The use of technology to analyze hitting is another way our game is evolving, and I’m excited to help them explore that area.”
Justin Stone’s Master’s Degree in Kinetics, coupled with a Division I playing background, allow him to connect across departments to utilize technology in a streamlined approach.
Senior Vice President of Player Development and Amateur Scouting, Jason McLeod said, ““Over the past couple of spring trainings, our staff has seen the value Justin’s work brings to the organization and we are excited to continue the relationship for the near future.”
