CHICAGO, Ill – Elite Baseball Training announced the hiring of former Loyola University – Chicago Head Softball Coach, Jeff Tylka. Jeff will be stepping into the Director of Fastpitch Softball position as well as a key piece to the collegiate consulting team. Jeff and the Elite Fastpitch Staff will also be growing the fastpitch travel team program, along with offering instructional opportunities out of Chicago’s Bradley Sports Center.
“I have coached at the middle school level, the high school level, elite travel ball level, and the D1 level so I think I have a unique understanding of what the development of players from the youngest levels all the way up to the highest level should look like” Tylka said about moving into this role with Elite.
Not only does he bring experience at all levels of the game, but he brings a clear track record of success; starting with his playing days as a team captain at Knox College, to coaching the 18u Illinois Chill, leading Antioch HS to a 91-17 record and a 3rd place finish at state, to recently rewriting the Loyola University offensive record books in 2019. The 2019 Loyola Ramblers established single-season team records for batting average (.303), hits (403), runs (239) and RBI (214), en route to 25 wins.
“Jeff brings a strong background as a former Division I head coach, but what impresses me the most about him is how impactful he has been at every level of softball.” Elite Baseball Training President Justin Stone commented on Jeff’s experience. “He brings a quest for knowledge that will merge well with our overall philosophy of being coaches interested in bettering ourselves so we can better our players.”
Elite Baseball Training has become an industry leader in hitting research and technology. Elite serves as biokinematic consultants to several college softball programs and Coach Tylka will assist in those projects. He will also be implementing this technology driven approach across the Elite Fastpitch travel program to benefit Chicagoland youth and high school players.
“What drew me to Elite was most likely the same thing that draws both softball and baseball players alike, in that you have the opportunity to learn and grow with some of the top instructors in the country in a positive and fun atmosphere. The technology that is being utilized at Elite is not the norm, even at the D1 level in softball” Jeff said.
“Our consulting business has crossed from baseball into softball over the last year in an effort to continue providing like-minded coaches the benefits of the technology from our Biotech Cage. With Jeff’s background, we know that impact will continue to grow” stated Justin Stone.
