After college, Katie went back to where she started playing softball to coach young girls with the Oak Park Windmills organization. At this point she realized that she wanted work with children more and went back to school to obtain a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Illinois at Chicago. As a licensed teacher, she has taught a variety of age groups ranging from 3rd to 8th grade. She was interim head coach at Concordia University Chicago during the 2008 season and a three season catching and assistant JV coach for Lake Park High School. Between Katie’s experience as a teacher and coach, she brings both knowledge and teaching techniques that bring the best out of her players in both hitting and catching.
