Mobility Screening
Every athlete that steps in the batter’s box has a unique set of physical characteristics that makes them swing the bat the way they do. Before we can pattern mechanics that are best tailored to your body’s attributes, we also need to understand your physical limitations. Hyper-mobility and mobility restrictions, muscle bias and joint instability, all will affect the way you swing the bat.
Broke your ankle as a kid? We can see that in the data – and you’d be surprised how your body may still be compensating for that injury years later.
Through a series of FMS and TPI mobility tests and a variety of movements on the force plates, Justin Stone will be able to determine if your body has any physical limitation that would alter the way your body wants to swing the bat.
Force Plate
Newly introduced to baseball, our force plate is a revolutionary piece of technology that objectively measures the player’s interaction with the ground. The force plate measures horizontal, vertical, and torque forces and illustrates the timing of energy transfer from one leg to the other. Everyone has been told to “use their legs,” but now we can measure and be certain how efficiently you are interacting with the ground to provide power up the chain.
K-Vest Biofeedback Device
The K-Vest determines the body’s efficiency in the kinematic sequence. A correct sequence provides the fastest transfer of energy without loss. A correct sequence leads to swings with tighter slots, better bat path and greater bat speed. The 3d sensors will also determine how quickly a player is able to get up to top speed in their swing – an extremely important metric.
On a recent test of independent league professional players, we had players reach full speed in their swing, from launch, under .2 seconds, while some players were up to .26 to reach their maximum swing speed. This, on a 92mph fastball from a 6’0″ pitcher means the “slower to full speed” hitter has to launch his swing 7 and a half feet of ball flight sooner. This is a significant amount of distance on a pitch, which decreases pitch recognition efficiency and adjustability in the swing
Bat Sensor
We keep the player’s bat hooked up to a sensor to track the bat speed and hand speed throughout the BioTech testing. Bat sensors used by themselves, can’t tell you “why” your numbers aren’t what you want them to be. But, used in conjunction with our Bio-Tech data, if we get a rise or fall in those numbers, we can go back to the Force Plate or K-Vest and explain why that happens
Hit Trax Motion Capture
Hit Trax allows us to analyze the output of the swing. We will monitor the exit velocity, launch angle, and distance of the hit. Like the bat sensor, used by itself, Hit Trax doesn’t provide “corrective” information should you not be satisfied with your metrics. With our Bio-Tech cage, when numbers rise or fall, we can go back to the K-Vest and Force Plate data to explain what causes the output of the hit.
Mechanics Fitting
The idea that one type of hitting mechanic or style is best for all hitter’s is a fallacy. The goal of all this data collection is to build the swing that best fits YOUR body. After collating all the data, Justin Stone will help guide you through a mechanics fitting program to tailor your style, stance, set up, and loading mechanism to parallel your body’s attributes.
Pricing & Scheduling

KGo App Data Tracking & Development Plans
Want to take your data with you and monitor your progress over time? The NEW KGo App by KMotion is your answer.
This app allows you to view all of your metrics collected during your BioTech Cage session and receive personalized drill recommendations from Justin Stone based on your results. You can also add additional captures to track your progress. The app shows where you rank in your age group and where you need to be to stay ahead of your competition at the next level.
1 Capture App Add on: $50
4 Capture Year Package: $600
*Includes 4 Biotech Cage evaluations and a year subscription to KGo App.
Strength and Mobility Plan
Sometimes mechanics issues are more physio related than mechanically related. Therefore, the physical issue needs to be addressed before mechanics can be improved. Based on the strength, mobility and functional strength assessment, we will build a 3 month workout plan, specific and unique to your needs. All of the exercises are demonstrated on EliteBaseball.TV to aid your process. Workout plans can address:
- Scapular Strength
- Lower Body Strength and Stability
- Upper Body Strength
- Core Strength
- Muscle Bias
- Movement Restrictions
Cost: $100
