Professional Development Courses

Elite Baseball Training will host one-week coaches training sessions that will focus on areas MLB organizations are prioritizing in player development.  Justin Stone, who consults in technology and human movement training in Major League Baseball, will lead an intensive course that will help coaches “check the boxes” for the skill sets necessary for modern-day hitting coaches and scouts.   The course will include:

Movement Assessments & Correctives

Basic Physiology and Human Movement

Technology Training including the following:

  • Protocols for using tech when testing athletes
  • Implementation of tech in testing and drills
  • Evaluating players using data
  • Reading tech data and communicating data with players
  • Implementing action plans based on screens and data

Technology pieces to be learned and analyzed:

  • Bertec Force Plates
  • K Vest 3D motion sensors
  • Diamond Kinetics and Blast bat sensors
  • Rapsodo and HitTrax ball trackers with spin data

The course will include classroom time but will focus on interaction with athletes, both amateur and pro, in our facility.

The Level 1 Class will focus on movement screenings, how movement screenings affect data and getting familiar with the metrics each tech platform provides.

The Level 2 Class will focus on turning data into executed action plans.  Proficiency in the class will have coaches and scouts using technology, without assistance, in setting up, testing, collating data, writing an action plan and implementing the action plan with a student, by the end of the the level 2 class.  Coaches will leave the course completing a written exam on physiology, tech implementation and data reading.

Location:  Class will take place at the Bradley Sports Center (2500 W. Bradley Pl).  Facility is located about 2 miles west of Wrigley Field.  AirBnB is recommended for coaches traveling from out of town.

*For coaches sponsored by organizations, exam results will be provided to the organization upon request.
