2012 Summer Highlights – Was named to USA Great Lakes Regional team NTIS … Invited to the Silver and Black Midwest Showcase … Named team Co/Captain for the 14u nationally ranked Future Elite for third straight year … Posted a .459 batting average all season … Led the team in batting average, doubles (14), & RBI (62) … Posted a 10-1 record from the mound while leading the team with 7 saves, first in total strikeouts … Went 4-4 vs Oak Brook Outlaws on 5-6-12 with triple, 2 doubles, & 5 RBI … Recorded 2 hits in 3 at bats vs Briarcliff Blazers on May 14 with a HR & 2 RBI … Hit .500 in Michigan Super NIT going 11-22 at the plate with 6 doubles, 3 Home Runs for the tournament … Was 3-3 vs Illinois Sparks on 5-25 with 2 doubles, 4RBI … In East Cobb GA. at Wood Bat National Championship went 4-4 with 3 RBI … Threw 4 scoreless innings vs Flood City Elite in East Cobb GA. @ Wood Bat Nationals earning the win while going 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBI.

Coach Stone’s Comments on Sam Ferri –“Catcher, RHP, Right Fielder that can flat out do it all. Plus arm from behind the plate, 1.9 pop and is a wall back there. Mid 80s off the mound, potential to hit 90 by fall. Will be used as our closer and spot starter. Has 3 pitch arsenal. Plus arm from the outfield with great setup. Can play all 3 positions at major D1 level. Ability to hit quality pitching. Will hit in our 3 hole with gap to gap power and great bat control, works all fields. Good situational hitter. Knows the game inside and out, great work ethic. Team co-captain.”
