Pitching, Hitting

Nick Shelton joins the Elite Baseball Training staff after a two sport career at Benedictine University where he played both football and baseball.

Shelton had to overcome adversity during his prep career to continue playing at the next level. He was cut from his high school team 3 of 4 years, but that only made his fire burn stronger and led him to eventually topping out at 94mph on the mound. He finished the 2023 season with a 3.19 ERA and received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

Nick is a learner and loves to be around the game. He began his coaching career while he was still playing and has spent time working alongside Elite’s top pitching coaches Chris Tierney and Travis Kerber. This has armed him with a wealth of knowledge on traditional pitching mechanics along with side arm and submarine deliveries. He also has a background in pitch design and can guide amateur pitchers through the pitch development process.
