Phil played baseball at the University of Arizona and Emporia Sate University.  He was head coach for 12 years at Canyon Del Oro HS in Tucson, AZ winning 2 state titles and coaching 6 future Major Leaguers such as Ian Kinsler, Shelly Duncan, Chris Duncan and Brian Anderson.  Phil  was an assistant coach for USA Baseball’s 18U national team.  He is currently the assistant principal at Lake Park High School.
