Pitching
Shelby is a former NCAA Division I Softball Player with 13+ years of pitching coach experience. Growing up in the Quad Cities, she started playing travel softball at age 11 and competed at State, Regional, and National levels, earning several state and regional titles.
She received a full scholarship to pitch at Eastern Kentucky University, where she won two Ohio Valley Conference titles and appeared in the NCAA tournament her freshman year. During her college career, Shelby competed and pitched against the nation’s best talent from teams like Alabama, UCLA, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia, Florida State and other top Division I schools.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Shelby began to teach 2nd grade, coach high school softball, and teach pitching lessons. Since moving to Chicago, she has continued doing private pitching lessons with girls ages 7 to 18. In addition, Shelby works as the main pitching instructor for several travel organizations including Windy City Thunder, Royal Swings Ravens, Chicago Bash, Des Plaines Warriors and the Chicago Bandits . She runs many camps with the Chicago Bandits Professional organization and also park districts around the city. She is now also the Assistant Coach and Pitching Coach at Roosevelt University.
