Academy Director, Head of HS Pitching Development

Dalton brings 12 years of player development leadership into his role as Academy Director and Head of High School Pitching Development for Elite Baseball Training Northwest. A Streamwood High School graduate, Dalton went on to be a left-handed pitcher at Valparaiso University after lettering in 3 sports during high school. He graduated from Valpo as the all-time innings leader (347) and was the Horizon League Pitcher of the Year in 2014. In 2016, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the MLB Draft. His professional experience grounds everything he teaches. Dalton leads the academy program design, benchmarks goals for every level, and develops pitchers with a solid foundation. He’s just as focused on an athlete’s mindset, work ethic, and drive as he is on mechanics, because the best arms are built on the best habits. Inside Elite, Dalton will continue elevating the development path for every athlete and family that walks through our doors.

Director of Performance, Data & Analytics, GPS Training

Garrett brings seven plus years of player development experience and a rare blend of athletic and technical background to his role as Director of Performance, Data & Analytics with Elite Baseball Training Northwest. A Rolling Meadows High School graduate, he played football as a running back at Carthage College, experience that gave him a firsthand appreciation for how strength, speed, and movement translate into on-field performance. Garrett leads the GPS Strength, Movement, and Speed Program at the academy, turning measurable data into individualized training plans for every athlete. He believes the best development happens when athletes understand the “why” behind their training, and he works to make performance science feel practical rather than intimidating. At Elite, Garrett’s analytics-driven approach will help take athlete development to a new level for our players and families. There is no one an athlete can trust more to take them to the next level than Garrett and he builds lasting relationships in support of an athlete achieving their goals.

Head of Youth Pitching, Head of Facilities

With over 27 years of player development and pitching coach experience, Ty is the heart of the youth pitching program at Elite Baseball Training Northwest. A Crystal Lake Central graduate and two-way star for the Tigers, Ty pitched at Mesa Community College and Arizona State University before spending nine years in professional baseball as a right-handed pitcher and later a manager. He has also served as a college summer head coach for over 10 years, bringing a depth of experience few youth instructors can match. Ty introduces our youngest athletes to clean mechanics, smart routines, and a love for the game that sticks with them long after they leave the Academy. Patient with beginners, demanding when it counts, and always making sure the athlete has FUN, Ty believes good habits early build careers that last and that players will always bring more passion to something when they believe in themselves. As part of Elite, he’ll continue laying the foundation that ensures young pitchers stay healthy, focused, and dedicated to their craft.

Hitting Coordinator and Coaching Coordinator

Matt has quickly become a trusted voice leading the hitting program at Elite Baseball Training Northwest with his unrelenting passion for the process. A Jacobs High School graduate, he played first base at McHenry Community College and Chicago State University before spending six-plus years in professional baseball as a player and coach. That experience translates directly to how he teaches our hitters to be prepared, athletic, and adjustable. As Hitting Coordinator, Matt leads cage instruction, supports our coaching staff, and helps athletes build confidence at the plate through quality reps and clear feedback while leveraging the latest tools and insights. Inside Elite Baseball Training, Matt’s professional, steady teaching style is exactly the kind of development our players and families deserve. He gets our hitters mentally ready to have a great approach at the plate and focused on barreling the ball to all fields.

Recruiting Coordinator

Clark Morgan brings communication, connection, and competitive credibility to one of the most important roles in the program. A Wauconda High School graduate, Clark was a left-handed pitcher at the University of Illinois-Springfield before transitioning into recruiting, and it shows in how easily he speaks the language of both players and college coaches. As Recruiting Coordinator with Elite Baseball Training Northwest, Clark helps families navigate the ever-changing college baseball landscape, building target lists, identify scholarship opportunities, preparing recruiting profiles, and opening doors with the strong, lasting connections he has developed across the country. He’s also finishing his doctorate in dentistry at Harvard, a balance of focus, discipline, and follow-through that defines how he supports our athletes. At Elite, Clark’s network and passion will help even more players find their right college fit and make sure our players use all the tools available to them to build their recruiting profiles.

Catching Coordinator

Ben Peltz is the kind of catcher every program wants, and the kind of coach every young player should learn from. A Crystal Lake South High School graduate and key varsity backstop, Ben went on to Ashland University in Ohio, where he earned a spot on the 2024 ABCA NCAA Division II Midwest Region All-Defensive Team and was repeatedly named to the GMAC Academic All-Conference Team. As a freshman he hit .311 with 35 runs, 14 doubles, and 5 home runs, then continued to anchor the Eagles’ defense across catcher, first base, and DH in 2024. Ben is now a varsity assistant at Crystal Lake South and is a 15U coach in the program, in addition to leading the catching program at Elite Baseball Training Northwest. His standard sets the tone for every catcher we develop here and with his guidance, we will continue to produce catchers with an all around skillset.
